Gail Pidduck is a painter living in Santa Paula, California. She paints what surrounds her studio: mountains, fields, orchards, birds, animals, and the people who work nearby. Pidduck welcomes visitors by appointment to her studio in Santa Paula canyon.
Pidduck grew up in Santa Paula, attending local schools. She earned a BA in art from Brigham Young University in Utah, where she grew to love the work of Minerva Teichert and Maynard Dixon. She took life drawing class from Trevor Southey who forever changed the way she would look at the human body, and Roman Andrus, who taught “life” as he taught painting. After college Pidduck returned to Santa Paula where she has enjoyed painting while being the mother of three children. Pidduck who worked summers during college in the flower fields of Burpee Seed company is known for her thoughtful paintings of field workers and the rural landscape of Ventura county.
